Well, the simply delightful weather we’re experiencing is the icing on the proverbial cake, combined with the renovation that never seems to progress despite loud and messy hammerings and sawings that wake the kids up from naps Far Too Soon and usually succeed in challenging my temper (and temperance!)
The blog suffers, another victim of this catastrophic disruption. There just doesn’t seem to be a horizontal surface in the house to set the laptop. Except for, well, my LAP, which is usually taken by the two-year-old. All two year olds know the most important rule for getting under mom’s skin: If she sits down, drop whatever you’re doing to run over and sit on her lap. Do anything at all possible to not allow her “time to herself.” No reading, no tv, no talking on the phone. Do anything and everything to remain the center of her universe.
I suppose I should take some “during” pictures, but they’re almost scary. David has the pantry/desk halfway complete. The cabinets are primed, but the doors (all 32) haven’t been touched, as there is no place to put them yet to paint them. I think it’ll happen some day.
Is there a patron saint of kitchen renovations? I’d be curious to know.
